State Police looking for motorcyclist that crashed and fled scene

SEAVILLE - State Police are searching for a motorcyclist that sideswiped one vehicle and landed underneath another during what could have been a deadly collision Monday afternoon. Somehow the biker managed to walk away, seemingly unharmed, and actually fled the scene.
According to troopers at the Woodbine barracks, a man driving a black Kawasaki motorcycle south on Route 50, near the Seaville Fire Company, illegally passed one car in front of him and then lost control of the bike, winding up under the vehicle traveling in front of the car.
Police said the man sideswiped the car, causing him to lose control. His motorcycle then fell over while he was riding it and the man and his bike slid under an SUV. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m.
The drivers of the motor vehicles were not injured, police said, and apparently, neither was the man, because witnesses told troopers he almost immediately got up and sprinted away on foot, leaving his motorcycle behind. He reportedly continued heading south, in the direction of the Seaville Tavern.
There were no license plates on the motorcycle, said police, making it near impossible to track the man’s identity through the vehicle. It may be possible that the bike does not even belong to the individual who was riding it.
The incident remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information on the man to call the Woodbine barracks at 861-5698.
