Four juveniles arrested for burglary, theft
Four juveniles were arrested on charges of burglary and theft in connection with various robberies in and around Wildwood Crest. On July 9, the Wildwood Crest Police Department was notified of a suspicious bag containing various items by the mother of a 16-year-old Crest resident when she came across the bag in her son’s possesion. After a brief investigation, police arrested the juvenile along with a 16-year-old from Havertown, Pa., a 17-year-old from Villas and a 17-year-old from Ocean City.
The Havertown resident allegedly used a 12-inch machete in an attempted robbery of two juveniles on the night of July 8. He was charged with posession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possesion of an unlawful weapon, robbery with a weapon and numerous counts of burglary and theft. According to police reports, the machete was recovered in the grass of a property on Pacific Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Numerous items stolen from motor vehicles were also recovered during the investigation.
The Ocean City juvenile was charged with possession of CDS under 50 grams, possession of CDS paraphanelia, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft. The Villas juventile was charged with burglary, theft, conspiracy to commit robbery and receiving stolen property. The Crest resident was charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. All four juveniles were released to their parents.
The Wildwood Crest Police Department asks that all recent motor vehicle theft victims contact the Detective Edward Gorski at 522-2456. They also urge all residents to secure their vehicles properly. All of the motor vehicle thefts were made through unlocked doors or windows.
