CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE -- Two hunters found a dead body Monday morning at 10:11 a.m. near the intersection of Goshen Swainton Road and Dennisville Road near the railroad tracks, according to a police source.

The body is a middle-aged white male but his ID is being withheld until next of kin is notified. He had an apparent gunshot wound but police say there is apparently no foul play. No other details were available. The Medical Examiner's Office was on scene along with representatives from the Prosecutor's Office and Middle Township police.

The source said it wasn't clear how long the body had been there but it was not "an extended period of time" based on the amount of decomposition.
