Woman shot with pellet gun

A woman walking home from a Villas tavern was apparently shot in the leg with a pellet gun late in the evening on March 12.
While the BB was lodged in her thigh, she thought she had been bitten by something and continued home, according to police. The next morning, she found something stuck in her leg and went to the hospital.
Police say the department received a call at 11:55 p.m. from Cape Regional Medical Center that a woman had sought medical care, and that they found a BB in her leg. She was treated and released, with the pellet to be removed later.
The incident took place along Bayshore Road between Pacific Avenue and Locust Road. Police ask anyone with information to call the safe neighborhoods tip line at 886-1619, ext. 156, or Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 465-2800.
Det. Chris Lambert and Cpl. William Priole are investigating.
