Crack possession charged in Villas
Police say an investigation begun due to complaints from numerous people resulted in charges of cocaine distribution against a Villas resident.
According to police, Ronald Brown, 33, was sent to county jail with bail set at $30,000 after he was allegedly found in possession of crack cocaine both on him and at his home.
Police say they had received a number of complaints over the past month of activities in an apartment on Mowery Avenue. They say suspicious people would arrive in cars and stay for short periods, which police said looked like someone selling drugs.
On March 19, police set up surveillance and spotted Brown outside with some other people. He was checked for warrants, police say, and was shown to owe $11,000 in child support. Sheriff’s department deputies and Lower Township officers moved in, and according to police received permission to search Brown and his residence.
Police say they found numerous bags of crack, as well as almost $1,000 in cash.
Brown was taken to the police department and processed, and later taken to county jail.
Det. Chris Lambert, Det. 1st Class Mel Hedum, Ptl. Ed Edwards and Cpl. Kevin Boyle investigated, with the assistance of the sheriff’s department.
