City officials Thursday, March 20, confirmed that the Ocean City Music Pier was closed because of structural concerns regarding the pilings supporting the building.
Officials on Thursday afternoon said steps were being taken to repair and reopen the pier as soon as possible.
The pier, at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk, was completed in 1929, and regularly hosts numerous events, from rock ‘n’ roll to the Ocean City Pops, the annual Flower Show and municipal meetings.
